Dakota Harvest® started with a simple idea.  Showcase the ways we can celebrate the hard work of local farmers.  When we first started thinking about Dakota Harvest® back in 2005, we had a vision for two sides of the company really coming together... the home and the hearth.  That is how Dakota Harvest® Bakers and Dakota Harvest® Builders were born.

We create high quality food using goods from local farmers.  North Dakota and Minnesota are truly bountiful places to live and we showcase those ingredients in our food.  We believe we can create amazing breads and pastries to rival any bakery in the country (at least that is what our well traveled customers tell us!).   Great ingredients, talented bakers and chefs, and a passion for food have come together at Dakota Harvest® Bakers when we opened our doors on May 8, 2006.

With Dakota Harvest® Builders, we wanted to explore natural building methods, especially strawbale construction.  These forms of building have been around for over a century and are more environmentally sensitive and energy efficient than traditional construction techniques.  Can you imagine being able to eventually work directly with a farmer to get the wheat from the fields for our bread and the straw for homes?  We can.
